Thunder Dance

I haven't posted anything in a while, so I thought I'd dig through the archives. Back in 2009 I got really into my Choctaw heritage, and as part of my Art History class did a huge report on the tribe. In conjunction with that, I recorded this song and made the accompanying video (brother Gaff on drums).

I got all the music I could from my tribe, which just ended up being Choctaw translations of songs taught to them by French missionaries, so I found more inspiration in Tomahawk's Anonymous album, a collection of "original arrangements inspired by Native American material from the late Nineteenth Century." I had also been digging on the flute playing of a family friend.

The video is part VideoSong (before I knew about Pomplamoose) and part "Hard Day's Night" homage.
